Conveying basic Christian values

“Master, what is the most noble commandment in the law? But Jesus said to him: 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the noblest and greatest commandment. But the other is the same: 'You should love your neighbor as yourself'. In these two commandments hangs the whole law and the prophets ”(Matt 22, 36-40)

The commandments formulated in Matthew are the basis for our endeavors to see each individual small and large person in his or her uniqueness. He should feel accepted and respected in our facility. A friendly, honest and loving relationship with one another, to be there for one another, to act conciliatory in case of differences of opinion is our basic attitude. Only against this background can basic Christian values be experienced and learned.

Biblical stories and organization of the church's annual cycle

It is important to us to bring Jesus Christ closer to children and adults as a model for their own thoughts and actions. We make his actions tangible through biblical stories. We consider the communal experience and the organization of the church's annual cycle to be formative and helpful, especially in the leisure sector. Here important impulses can also be conveyed for family and local environments.

Church services and cooperation with parishes

It is also important to us to keep the faith alive and to awaken it anew. We consider it sensible and beneficial to rediscover the cycle of festivals and times of the church year together with the children. This applies not only to the work and community within the school, but also to intensive cooperation with local and regional parishes. School devotions and services take place regularly in the Remplin Church. An ecumenical exchange should also be promoted. Church employees and pastors in the area accompany and support the cooperation.

Religious instruction

Protestant religious education is part of our school profile and is therefore compulsory for all children. Religious topics also permeate all subjects, for example through the selection of texts in which stories from the Bible are conveyed. Festive times of the church year are taken up as a lesson topic and serve to structure the entire school year. Depending on the situation, every teacher, regardless of the subject profile, addresses faith in the classroom.

Christian rituals

Christian rituals are incorporated into school life. The week begins with a prayer and grace is said before meals together.

There are Christian symbols on and in the school building, for example the cross or the fish, the meaning of which is conveyed and explained to the children. The children also learn about expressions of Christian life, such as blessings, personal prayer or Christian meditation.
